Their gentle approach & friendly chairside manner will keep you relaxed and comfortable throughout your treatment.

Dr. Klein is a graduate of Marion High School in Marion, Illinois. He accepted an appointment to the United States Naval Academy where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree. While serving for five years as an officer in the United States Navy, he earned a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Pepperdine University. He then attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, Illinois. After graduation, he completed a two-year residency at St. Louis University Department of Orthodontics where he earned his specialty degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Klein remains current in all facets of the orthodontic field by taking over 50 hours of continuing education each year.

Dr. Klein is on the teaching faculty at St. Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education where he received the "Outstanding Instructor of the Year" award in 2002. He has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics in Southern Illinois since 1985.

Dr. Klein is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Wabash River Dental Society, and is a member and past president of the Jefferson County Dental Society. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Illinois State Society of Orthodontists, the Orthodontic Education & Research Foundation, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Klein supports many local youth groups and Christian organizations including the YMCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the United Way of both Mount Vernon and Marion, Angels on Assignment, and the United Methodist Children's Home.

Dr. Klein resides in Mount Vernon with his wife, Dianne. They enjoy many family activities with their son, Brian, including golf, tennis, boating, and travel.


In 1997 Dr. Cook received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health with an Industrial Hygiene emphasis and dual minors in Chemistry and Mandarin Chinese from Utah State University. He graduated from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2001 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) and received his orthodontic training at Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education where he received a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics. Dr. Cook received the Alpha Omega Scholarship Award for the highest general average for the four years of dental school, the Dean’s Gold Award for scoring above 90 on both Part I &II of the National Board Dental Examinations, the American Association of Orthodontists Award, the American Association of Oral Biologists Award, the Quintessence Award for clinical achievement, the Academy of LDS Dentists Scholarship, the Dr. William S. Kramer Award of Excellence from the Supreme Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the Creighton Superior Scholastic Achievement Award in 1999, 2000, & 2001, Member Honorary Omicron Kappa Upsilon Fraternity, and awarded a four year Regional Dental Education Program scholarship in 1997.

Dr. Cook belongs to the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Southern Illinois Dental Society, Missouri Dental Association, the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

During his free time, Dr. Cook enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. He enjoys exercise, studying Mandarin Chinese, fishing, and reading.
